Fundraising

This was our best fund raising year ever, with almost $75,000 raised to support our program services.

We hosted several new fund raisers in 2006, including our first ever Kentucky Derby event and received an overwhelming contribution from the Colorado Rockies and Clint and Karla Hurdle. Visit our fund raising review page to get more details on our 2006 fund raisers.

Where does the money go?

In 2006, PWSA of Colorado allocated a majority of its income to program services. Overhead was kept extremely low due to the high use of volunteer labor and the in-sourcing of most design and marketing work. PWSA of Colorado relies on partnerships with the Foundation for Prader-Willi Research and PWSA-USA to help fulfill many of its program services.

For 2007, we do not expect these allocations to change much. More will be allocated and spent on support for Colorado families as we pursue various option for a permanent residence (Group Home) for our older children; and, additional funds will be spent to help PWSA-USA transition its brand over to the current brand you see on this Web Site.
