About the Derby

Celebrating "Derby Day" in Colorado has become a tradition for the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association of Colorado (PWSACO). The annual Kentucky Derby party is a unique community awareness and fundraising event for the whole family. Hundreds of attendees come together to experience the most exciting 2 minutes in sports and have a great time to support a great cause.

Kid of all ages can't get enough. There are bounce houses, clowns, magic shows, crafts, and other games to keep the kids entertained while the parents pick the winning horse. Donations to PWSACO are turned into "Prader-Willi dollars" at the event. Savvy Derby goers can try to increase their buying power at the auctions by betting on the horses. After the race, PW dollars are paid out to winners based on the house odds at the party. Conservative players may save their PW dollars to ensure they win their favorite auction item. There is an amazing silent auction with over 100 incredible items, and a sure-to-be lively live auction for your shopping enjoyment.

In true southern style, there is always amazing southern cuisine and mint juleps served through out the afternoon. Celebrate our theme and wear your best Kentucky Derby outfit (dresses and hats for the ladies and seersucker for the gentlemen) to be eligible for our best dressed contest.

Derby Day is always the first Saturday in May. All funds raised directly benefit individuals with Prader-Willi syndrome. Please join us and support a great cause.
