It’s that time of the year again! The Kentucky Derby is coming to the Porter house for the 11th consecutive year. Most of you are aware that we turned this annual event into a fund raiser for the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association of Colorado (PWSACO) just last year. We assure you that all of our traditions remain: wagering on the race, mint juleps, great food and fun for the kids. However, the main focus of this event now is helping families impacted by Prader-Willi syndrome. We hope you will join us in supporting this cause! | |

About the Kentucky Derby Fundraiser The Derby party is a fun-filled afternoon for the whole family! There will be a bouncy castle, clowns and face-painting for the kids. The “big kids” will enjoy good-natured wagering, prize drawings, and a live auction. Food and drinks (including Mint Juleps!) will be served all afternoon. Your tax-deductible donation to PWSA of Colorado is turned into Prader-Willi dollars at the door. You can register and donate online today, or on the day of the event. We accept cash, checks, and credit cards. All transactions at the party are done in PW dollars. We have special donation packages available: $50 (3 drawing tickets) $100 (3 drawing tickets and 75 PW dollars) $250 (9 drawing tickets, 200 PW dollars and T-shirts) $500 (15 drawing tickets, 500 PW dollars and T-shirts) How much you give is completely up to you and every dollar helps! CORPORATE DONATIONS 
If you represent a corporation, or know of a corporation that may wish to donate to this event and support us, please visit our corporate donations page for details! The betting parlor will be open to place wagers on your favorite horses. The odds will be calculated based on the wagers placed at the party. The minimum bet is 10 PW dollars. The house will payout the winners after the race in PW dollars that can be used to buy additional drawing tickets or to bid on prizes at the live auction. A prize drawing will be conducted several times throughout the party. You can purchase tickets individually for 20 PW dollars, or as part of the donation packages listed above. The final prize drawing will be after the live auction, so you will have a chance to spend your left-over PW dollars on drawing tickets. This is too good to pass up! You could be the winner of Nona’s (Abby’s grandmother) gourmet dinner or a round of golf with Pa (Abby’s grandfather) and other fabulous prizes at the live auction. The live auction will be held 1 hour after the race and you can bid in PW dollars and/or regular dollars. If you need more information or have a question, please don't hesitate to contact us!
