Wearing a fashionable (if not gaudy or ridiculous) hat to the Kentucky Derby is probably the most notable tradition associated with the Kentucky Derby.  Just about everyone you run into at Churchill Downs on race-day will be wearing a lavishly designed or creatively pieced-together hat.

Generally, you’ll see classy and fashionable hats in the Clubhouse and Paddock areas, but the infield  seating hosts an open-season for mad hatters and meticulous milliners alike to display their creative flare for headwear.

Here in Colorado you mostly see cowboy hats, baseball hats and ski hats.  The PWSA Derby fundraiser off ers folks the opportunity to break out of that mold and go for the classy, fashionable, or gaudy accessory!  Ladies are encouraged to wear a hat that suits their fancy and makes them stand out in the crowd.  Come with your best Derby hat and we will reward this boldness with praise and prizes.

The secret judges will be milling around the party in search of their favorite mad hatter, and all ladies  will have the opportunity to show off  their masterpieces before the live auction. Will you be from the  Clubhouse or the infield seating?
